Working with this family is such a blast, but I'll tell you what - it also helped to teach me a valuable lesson. When I first worked with them, several years ago, their oldest son was about 5 months old. It was their first family photo session, and at the time, I had photographed mostly newborns at just a week or two old in their homes or families with older babies and toddlers outdoors. But oh, the magic of the baby session in home. I had always preached to mamas about being sure that they scheduled their photo sessions ASAP once baby arrives, within their first two weeks to capture that newborn goodness.
And you know what, for a lot of mamas scheduling these sessions, that is perfect. But for others, they need time to adjust to life with a new baby, to recover from childbirth, to look in the mirror and see herself again, to emerge from the deepest depths of sleep deprivation and land on two feet on the other side.
Skipping a newborn session doesn't mean that you've missed the boat. It just means that when we capture your baby's first photos, they'll be more likely to give you great eye contact, social smiles and even giggles. They'll show off their amazing skills that they've mastered in their few short months, from pushing up onto their tummies to reaching for their delicious baby toes (and you know how I love baby toes).
Photographing your family within the comfort of your home is a beautiful way to capture your little ones in the comfort and familiarity of your home environment. As an in-home Lifestyle Family Photographer capturing families in Frisco and throughout the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex, I'm happy to come to YOU and help you tell your story.
