A family photographer that’s well trained in managing families may be more of what you need with multiple children. You know your kids best, so I always feel this is something to be mindful of as a client!
Do you want outdoor or studio space as your background? Finding a photographer that has an aesthetic that you are wanting is important. Again, well trained photographers will have specific locations and times of day for their sessions because of their own unique craft and style. For example, if you are searching for a photographer that has a ton of props and fun backgrounds, a photographer with a light and airy style studio space (hi! me!) isn’t going to be able to provide you with the session of your dreams. Know your vision and search out a photographer that showcases work that aligns with what you truly want.
Book as early as possible! Photographers tend to keep full schedules, around 6-8 weeks in advance. This last tip is a general rule of thumb to follow when you’re planning your family portraits, or any professional portraits for that matter!
