I want to help you to safely and beautifully document this magical life you’re living. As a mom of three little ones, I know firsthand how this time flies in a blink. One day, you’ll want to be able to flip through your little one’s photo albums and share stories of what the world was like when they were little. When the world slowed down and allowed us to connect with our families in a whole new way.

A photo session with Rachel Friedman Photography is more than just photos, but an experience to remember from start to finish.

I work with you every step of the way to make your photo session a stress-free, relaxed, luxurious experience. We will connect and determine your goals for your session, whether it’s the perfect portrait for a certain wall in your home, or just a feeling or moment you hope to capture in your portraits. Together, either via my extensive studio wardrobe for the whole family or via my online styling service for those who prefer to shop, we will curate the perfect wardrobe for your session. I will help you choose the perfect location to capture your family’s story, whether you’re envisioning a studio portrait experience, an in-home lifestyle session or family portraits outdoors in my field during golden hour. Before your session, you can opt to schedule hair and make up with one of the several talented HMU artists who take incredible care pampering the mamas who trust me to capture their photos.

At the session itself, you’ll be able to relax knowing you’re in the right hands. Maternity clients can trust me to help pose them to perfection, capturing them at the perfect angles to highlight their growing bump. At newborn sessions, you’ll not only benefit from my baby whispering ways, but my personal journey as a mom of three helps me empathize with and support new moms with everything from postpartum body image to the emotional rollercoaster of new motherhood.

My family sessions are relaxed, care-free and fun - whether you have one kid or many, whether your kids are wild or shy, runners or stage 5 clingers. I connect with your kids at their level, draw out their personalities and go with their flow. We don’t watch the clock or rush, because sessions with Rachel Friedman Photography aren’t “mini” - I’ve mastered the art of working quickly and efficiently because I’m totally familiar with the limited attention spans of little ones. And yet, I love having the flexibility to account for families running a few minutes late or a toddler melt down.

My goal is to SAFELY capture your family.

While safety has always been a priority since I launched my business over eight years ago, I have ramped up even more in our new normal with COVID-19. You can always expect me to clean and sterilize the studio between sessions, along with all props and wardrobe, monitor my own health/temperature, being open and honest and rescheduling in case of illness. In addition, I will gladly wear a mask upon request for indoor sessions. In return, I encourage my clients to please let me know if anyone in your family is ill, with zero penalties for rescheduling due to illness.

I know that the images we create together will be part of your family’s story and are something you want to tuck away for the future in digital format. But as a mom of small kids myself, I know that when juggling little ones and all of life’s many commitments, it can be challenging just finding the TIME to figure out what to make for dinner, much less how to display and enjoy the images from your session.

This is why I offer a luxury full service process to help you determine HOW you’ll use your images, the best sizes and art mediums for your walls, designing your family photo albums, even handling framing and hanging the images on the wall - all using the highest quality archival prints and heirloom albums that can be enjoyed now and appreciated for generations to come.

After the session, we connect via Zoom, and my clients are welcome to order “just the digitals” or have me help you with creating your gallery wall or heirloom photo album that you can enjoy for generations to come. There is no minimum purchase requirement, and you don’t make your selections until after our session together at your reveal and ordering appointment.
